Patient Info

FOR OUR PATIENTS

At our office, the patient always comes first. We feel that all of our staff members be professional, yet maintain a friendly and approachable demeanor. When a patient comes to our office, he or she should feel comfortable that all staff members are properly licensed, CPR certified, and maintain proper continuing education requirements in order to make patient visits both thorough and efficient.

YOUR FIRST VISIT

Unless a new patient has a particular dental problem that needs to be assessed, the first appointment at our office will include a dental cleaning with appropriate X-rays as well as a comprehensive examination by one of our dentists. This exam includes checking the jaw joint for temporomandibular disorders, an oral cancer screening, and disclosing any dental problems such as cavities and periodontal disease.

At this time both the dentist and patient will devise a treatment plan and the patient will leave with a scheduled appointment to start treatment.

We always schedule only one patient per appointment time. This is done to be respectful of your time with us and allow us to be as thorough as possible.

In the event you are unable to keep your scheduled appointment time please kindly give us notice of this as early as possible.

INSURANCE

For all patients with dental insurance, it is important that you bring your insurance card with you to your first appointment or notify us of any changes to your insurance as soon as possible. This allows our administrative staff to find out what procedures are covered under your insurance plan and therefore provide you with a financial estimate of what your insurance will cover.

As a courtesy to our patients, we will file your insurance claim on the same day of your appointment. All insurance claims are filed electronically thus allowing your insurance company to receive your claim within days of treatment. Upon receiving payment from your insurance company, you will then be responsible for any balance left on your account.

Please understand that Clifton Park Dental does not have a contract with your insurance company. We are not responsible for what benefits your insurance company pays on a claim; the amount or percentage paid is determined by the contract you or your employer has set up with the insurance company. Remember, we will assist you as best we can in estimating your portion of the cost of treatment but at no time guarantee how your insurance will handle your claim.
